Under FDA regulations, compounding is only legally permissible when there is a valid individual clinical reason. Your prescribing provider makes this determination independently, based solely on your health profile.

Compounded semaglutide is prepared by independent, licensed compounding pharmacies operating under Section 503A of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act. Open Water Rx does not manufacture, compound, or dispense medications.

The most common side effects are gastrointestinal: nausea, mild stomach discomfort, and occasional constipation, especially during dose escalation. These typically subside as your body adjusts.

Important safety information: GLP-1 receptor agonists, including semaglutide, cause thyroid C-cell tumors in rodents. It is unknown whether semaglutide causes thyroid C-cell tumors, including medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC), in humans. Semaglutide is contraindicated in patients with a personal or family history of MTC or Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2).

Pancreatitis has been reported in patients treated with GLP-1 receptor agonists. Discontinue semaglutide promptly if pancreatitis is suspected and do not restart if confirmed. Semaglutide is not recommended in patients with a history of pancreatitis.
